* It is the collaborative work of Ray South, Richard Watson, Craig LeHoullier, Martha Hufford, Soren Linnemann, Lyn Rancourt, Patrina Nuske Small, Michael Volk, Bill Yoder, Doug Frank, Bill Minkey and Willa Osis.
* The name is pronounced "''fer''-dow-co-fi", which is a native New Zealand Maori word that means 'red/yellow'. The variety was named by New Zealand project member Richard Watson.
