* This new variety originated from a cross … * This new variety originated from a cross between [[Budai Torpe]] and [[Black from Tula]], made in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia and named Grumpy. The variety was selected and named after the Legend of the [http://adam.shand.net/library/the_legend_of_sleeping_lady/ Sleeping Lady] by Sherry Shiesl of Alaska.
* Variety development was handled primarily by [[AK SH S|Sherry Shiesl of Alaska]], with minor participation by Craig LeHoullier, and seed grown out for the initial release by [[TN MA T|Ted Maiden, Tennessee]].
