* Russian variety from Rostov region. The … * Russian variety from Rostov region. The name implies it may have originated from Don region of central Russia.
* Seed was obtained from Tamara Yaschenko's collection by Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) in 2006 as part of a large seed exchange. First listed at Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook by Tatiana Kouchnareva, BC, Canada.
* There are two tomato varieties called 'Donskoi' in Vavilov Institute database - 'Donskoi 68' (1950) and 'Donskoi 202' (1959). It is not clear if this variety is related to any of the two.
