* In 1995, one plant of [[Cherokee Purple] … * In 1995, one plant of [[Cherokee Purple]] (from seed that [[Craig LeHoullier]] saved in 1991) gave fruit that had a deep orange red hue, shading to chocolate brown at the shoulders. Subsequent grow out of the saved seed indicated it was likely a skin color mutation (clear in [[Cherokee Purple]] to yellow in [[Cherokee Chocolate]]), as it has come true from that point onward.
