History
- Developed and released by Tom Wagner of Tater Mater Seed, a US private tomato and potato breeder in Washington state. Introduced in 1983 in Tater Mater Seeds Catalog under the heading "T-2". Tom Wagner named this tomato in 1985 Schimmeig Creg, which means 'Striped Rock' in Manx language, as per Tom's maternal grandfather, Joe Kaighin.
