B.C KO T
- Compact dwarf (tree-type) plant with large dark green rugose regular leaves that look unusual (curled up even when not under stress), 2-4 oz round orange fruits. Very good balanced flavor. Juicy. (15 seeds / packet)
Seed source:
Year grown: 2006, 2015
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)
CT BE J
- Late, 90 days, very unique dwarf plant, tree-type with one main leader, 24-30 inches, branches and foliage appear deformed, curling in and under, good production of 3-5 oz orange fruit.
Seed source:
Year grown: 2007
Location: Connecticut
History
- This odd tomato was requested from the USDA, via GRIN, in 1995 by Craig LeHoullier. No background information appears to be available. Craig has grown it twice, both times with unusual results noted above - the regular leaf but rugose leaves curl severely and the plant looks very unhappy, though it does produce a good crop of smallish round orange fruit. It is of greatest value as a breeding partner or for its curiosity value, perhaps.
- United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), PI 645178. . Donated to the USDA in 1963 from Iowa, USA. NSL 27967.
