• Another strain of Mortgage Lifter tomato, first offered as Mortgage Lifter in the 1982 Seed Savers Yearbook by Jerry A Segler Sr. of Sparland, Illinois, who obtained the seed from Thomas Watson of Charleston, Illinois.
• According to Amy Goldman, "Watson" was added to the name at the time of accession by SSE.
