History
- Another strain of Mortgage Lifter tomato, this one is a South Carolina family heirloom (according to Amy Goldman). The seed for this strain was first offered in Seed Savers 1984 Yearbook by Curtis Choplin of North Augusta, South Carolina (SC CH C). Mr. Choplin obtained the seed from M. E. Carter of Elliott, South Carolina, who had grown this tomato for several years, and who got it from J.W. DuBard of Cedar Creek Section near Blythewood, South Carolina. Mr. J.W. DuBard obtained the seed from his mother.
- "Carter" was added to the name at the time of accession by SSE.
