History

  • A 50+ year old variety grown by a family in Kazakhstan, who later immigrated to Germany and brought this variety along. A woman from this family, Ludmilla, passed the seeds to Reinhard Kraft, Neukirchen, Germany , who made the seeds available in Germany and to some North American tomato growers. Reinhard Kraft named this tomato after Ludmilla.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2010 Yearbook by Carolyn Male of Salem, New York (NY MA C), Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois (IL LO N), and Nancy Kirch, NY (NY KI N).
