80 days, indet., regular leaf plant with good yield of flattened red small beefsteak fruit, 2-5 oz; some fruits may be quite ribbed, others are smooth, excellent sharp sweet flavor, juicy flesh, keeps very well after picking - the fruits dry up rather than rot; I expected larger fruit since ‘Gigant’ means ‘Giant’ in English.

  • Russian heirloom tomato from Tamara Yaschenko's collection. The name translates ‘Pelin’s Giant’ where ‘Pelin’ may the last name of the breeder.
  • The seeds were sent to Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) as part of a large seed exchange with Tamara Yaschenko of Biysk, Siberia, Russia in 2006. Tatiana grew it in 2006 and offered it in the 2007 SSE Yearbook.
