Pods can grow up to 10" long and 1" in diameter at the stem. They start out light green, turning yellowish and finally red when fully mature. This pepper is quite sensitive to over-watering, so please keep the soil on a dry side. Very productive. This is one of our favorite cayenne peppers that we eat fresh in a tomato salad.
