Very early, 2-3' tall determinate plants with dense regular foliage, which bloom and set fruit early, first fruit ripened in late June/early July here in Pacific North West in a cool summer and rainy spring of 2010 (seeds were started in February). Tolerates lower than usual spring/summer temperatures very well and produces excellent fruit set. Very high yields. Bright red round oblate fruit, 2-4 oz, with outstanding sweet flavor. No core, meaty and juicy, with small seed cavities. Very similar to Sibirskiy Skorospelyi, but slightly smaller fruit and less juicy.

History

  • Russian variety bred at the Moscow Branch of Russian Research Institute of Plant Industry. Released in 1997 (?).
  • Introduced in North America in 1996 via SSE who obtained this variety from a Russian seedwoman Marina Danilenko (RUSS DA M).
  • SSE Accession: TOMATO/RED 2767

Description in Russian:

  • Самый перспективный ультраскороспелый сорт для районов рискованного земледелия. Обладает очень высокой устойчивостью к пониженным температурам. Даже при очень дождливом лете сохраняется высокая завязываемость плодов. Растение высотой 25-30 см., плоды круглые, красные, 68-105 г, первые плоды в кисти - до 150-180 г., с повышенным содержанием cахаров и витаминов, стабильное плодоношение при самых неблагоприятных условиях. Устойчив к фитофторе и неблагоприятным погодным условиям.
