Early, det. compact plant with regular foliage and high yield of small red tomatoes, growing in clusters of 5-6. Fruits are 2-4 oz, slightly red oblate globes, meaty, with a nice flavor. Very well suited for container growing. Some concentric cracking in very wet weather.

History

• Tomato variety from Altai, Siberia, Russia. Released in 1993 and available through several Russian CVs. Improved Sibirskiy Skorospelyi.
• Here is the description translated from a seed packet from a Russian commercial vendor:
  • "One of the best varieties of Siberian selection, cool weather tolerant, high yielder, bush type that does not require pruning. The plants are determinate, bushy, 2.5' tall. 6-7 fruits in a truss, 110-140 gram each. Fruits are red round oblate, with slight ribbing. Recommended for fresh eating, good for canning."
• Introduced to North American gardeners by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus in 2006-2007 via seed exchanges with Tomatoville and Garden Web members.

• Детерминантный, "улучшенный" Сибирский Скороспелый. Популярный высокоурожайный среднеспелый сорт (улучшенный вариант сорта Сибирский скороспелый). Для открытого грунта. Период от полных всходов до созревания плодов 94 -110 дней. Растение детерминантное, высотой 65 см. В кисти 6-7 плодов массой 100-120 г. Плоды округлой и округло-плоской формы, гладкие, красные. Отличных вкусовых качеств. Рекомендуется для потребления в свежем виде и консервирования. Ценность сорта - стабильная урожайность, дружность формирования урожая плодов, и их отличные вкусовые качества.
