History
|
* This tomato was developed by the late Fe … * This tomato was developed by the late Feodosiy M. Tarasenko of Ukraine, who was a Physics teacher and started to breed tomatoes after he retired in the early 1970s. Feodosiy Tarasenko developed about 50 tomato varieties, some of which he called 'Hybrid', although they were stabilized and hence open-pollinated. He used the word 'hybrid' to emphasize that he made crosses to develop his varieties.
* (''Tatiana's note'') I could not find a tomato with a similar name mentioned in Russian or Ukrainian sources. I suspect that this variety may not have been widely known or available commercially in Russia or Ukraine.
* First offered in the Seed Savers 2007 Yearbook by Michael Gunn of Pasadena, Texas (TX GU R), who received the seeds from Lyuda Battin, who shared many Russian and Ukrainian varieties with Michael Gunn.
* Michael Gunn shared the seeds with Dan and Val McMurray of Wynndel, British Columbia, Canada (B.C MC D).
* After Dan McMurray passed away, his second wife passed McMurray's seed collection to the College of Rockies, BC, Canada.
* Patricia Mitchell, who is a keeper of the McMurray's Seed Collection at College of Rockies passed the seeds to Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) in 2013 to grow out and save fresh seeds.
* Introduced commercially by [[:Category:Tomato Seeds|Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds]] in 2014. s|Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds]] in 2014.
