* Very old heirloom. It has been very popu … * Very old heirloom. It has been very popular in Australia and it is often thought by many to be of Australian origin, which is not correct. This tomato originated from the USA back in the 1860s, and was introduced in England by the name of "[[Trophy]]". It was later brought to Australia from England.
* [[Trophy]] dates back to the 1860s and was developed by Dr. T. J. Hand by crossing a cherry tomato with a large lumpy one, thus giving birth to one of the first smooth round red varieties.
