* Collected by [http://www.purewatergazett … * Collected by [http://www.purewatergazette.net/quisenberry.htm Ben Quisenberry] in the early 1980s from Dorothy Sudduth Hill of Tennessee whose family had grown it for nearly a century.
* A tomato named "Brandywine" was introduced by Johnson and Stokes in 1889; woodcuts of the variety in catalogs indicate that their release was regular leaf, and it has been seen listed as a "red" tomato. It is a possibility that Johnson and Stokes' "Brandywine" is actually the tomato known as "[[Red Brandywine]]". More research is needed on this.
