B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants produce beautiful red very scalloped flattened fruits, 3-6 oz. Refreshing acidic flavor, it is great for flavorful paste or sauce, but is also great sliced with a bit of salt and soft mozzarella cheese.

Seed source:

1. Antoniette Koshykar, New Jersey 13 / James Campbell of Bellows Falls, Vermont (VT CA J) 09
2. James Campbell of Bellows Falls, Vermont (VT CA J) 09

Year grown: 2012*(2), 2016(1)

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Italian heirloom brought by a Sicilian man to the U.S. in 1987. It was given to Ann Fuller of Mitchell, Indiana. If Togetta denotes town of origin within Sicily, and given that there is not a town with that name, it may be a typo of Torretta which is in Palermo province.
