History

  • An offtype or a cross of Mary Robinson's German Bicolor. Both red and pink selections have been offered by SSE members in SSE Yearbooks since the 1990s. The red selection is catalogued by Seed Savers Heritage Farm, Decorah, Iowa (IA SSE HF) as SSE TOMATO 4634.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1994 Yearbook by Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina (NC LE C), who received seeds from Gary Fitzgerald, Virginia in 1992. Craig's first growout produced large red fruits. Only two years later (1994), Craig managed to obtain correct seeds that matched Gary's description (bi-color) - it became what is now known as Mary Robinson's German Bicolor.
