Russian name: Сливовидный Полосатый (Slivovidnyi Polosatyi)
- the name means "Striped Plum" in Russian, and it was incorrectly translated as 'Plum Tigris'.
History
- A Russian commercial variety, introduced to North America by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus in the early 2000s. Andrey did not translate the name correctly, and it became known in North America as 'Plum Tigris'. The original name is Slivovidnyi Polosatyi.
- Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois (IL LO N) received seeds from Andrey and listed this variety at SSE in 2005.
