Mid-season. Dwarf (tree-type) plants with rugose regular foliage and stout central stem, grow to 3-4' tall and are perfect for a large pot. Fruit are blemish-free, smooth and round, 2-6 oz, ripen to a deep purple color. Very good flavor. Fruits do not keep very well after picking. (15 seeds per packet)

From the Dwarf Project. Rugose foliage on a determinate 3.5 foot plant. Great cropper. Ready to eat when the green shoulders fade to purple. Good disease resistance. The flavor rated 8/10. Mid-season, 70 days.

History

  • Developed in the 2006-2011 by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between New Big Dwarf and Paul Robeson, made in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia and named Happy. This tomato was selected and named by Tessa Millesse who lives in Perth, Western Australia.
  • Variety development was handled by Tessa Millesse, Patrina Nuske Small, Dustin Stober, Craig LeHoullier, Jeanne Krenning, Justin Morse, Nuria Sanchez, Jerry Dickerson and Dana Ivey.
  • Seed production for the initial release was done by Ted Maiden, Tennessee.
  • Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds introduced the variety in 2012.
