Indet., regular leaf with a high yield of 8-16 oz pink heart-shaped fruit with very excellent sweet flavor. One of our favorites.

History

  • Russian variety from Siberia region.
  • Introduced to North America as Eagle's Beak by Andrey Baranovski of Minsk, Belarus, who shared the seed with Neil Lockhart in mid-2000s. Neil shared the seeds with other SSE members in 2007, and this is how it found its way into the SSE Yearbook in 2007.
  • Also introduced in Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook under its original Russian name by Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T).
  • Tatiana's note: We do not support names translation, as it leads to confusion and the same variety being offered under different names. Please always use the original variety name to avoid confusion and preserve variety's roots and history. All the translated names are considered to be 'marketing' names, and not actual variety names.

  • Включен в Госреестр по Российской Федерации для садово-огородных участков, приусадебных и мелких фермерских хозяйств для выращивания в открытом грунте. Требует подвязки и формирования растений. Салатный. Среднеспелый. Растение индетерминантное. Лист крупный, зеленый. Соцветие простое. Первое соцветие закладывается над 10 листом, последующие через 3 листа. Плодоножка с сочленением. Плод сердцевидный, слаборебристый, плотный, хорошо транспортируется. Окраска незрелого плода зеленая с темным пятном у плодоножки, зрелого - розовая. Масса плода 228-360 г (до 600 г). Вкусовые качества свежих плодов хорошие. Урожайность товарных плодов 10,5-14,4 кг/кв.м.
