History

  • An heirloom that was grown by the Giltner Family of Virginia for 50 years since the 1940s.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1992 Yearbook by Robert G. Rogers of Versailles, Indiana (IN RO R), who received the seed directly from D. Giltner in 1991.
  • Introduced commercially by the late Chuck Wyatt of Maryland. According to Chuck, this was what he remembered tomatoes from the Shenandoah Valley tasted like.
