- Perennial. Blooms in the first year if started from seed. Leaves have anise smell. One of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. Said to have antibacterial and antifungal properties, helps to stimulate immune system, stabilize blood pressure, improve metabolism, treat depression and many other health-related issues, including diabetes. Sitting next to the garden bed with blooming Louphfantus energizes and elevates the mood.
- Usage
- 1 tea spoon of dry or fresh leaves and flowers per 1 liter of boiling water. Make the same way as you make regular tea. It is the best when used in small quantities, with other herbs, or as an addition to tea. If used in large quantities, it can suppress immune system.
