Indet., potato leaf, 4-8 oz bi-color fruit, most of the fruits heart shaped but some are more round, yellow with pink blush starting from the blossom end, pink streaks inside, very good sweet flavor. (limited, 15 seeds / packet)

History

• Mysteriously appeared in the garden of Reinhard Kraft, Neukirchen, Germany when growing out seeds sent to him by Craig LeHoullier of Little Lucky. Reinhart sent Craig seeds, and the heart shape carried through. The origin of the heart shape is either via mutation (less likely), or inclusion of pollen from nearby growing Ukrainian Heart or Yellow Oxheart (both in close proximity to the Brandywine which apparently crossed with Tad to provide the material from which Lucky Cross and Little Lucky originated). In returning to the F2 generation of the Brandywine cross, there are numerous striped and heart shaped segregates (and some were striped hearts!). So, the rare three way cross is the most likely explanation for the the heart shape appearing. Lucky indeed!
