B.C KO T

Beautiful butterhead type with green leaves and compact heads. Great taste! Excellent for a fall and winter crops as it is very hardy. We recommend to grow it in the second part of summer, so it does not bolt easily. White seeds.

Seed source:

Jeff Fleming of Augusta, Michigan (MI FL J) / Terroir Seeds 01

Year grown: 2008, 2014

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

MI FL J

Small loose heads, wavy bright green leaves with smooth margins, good flavor – a very nice butterhead variety. A hardy winter variety, survives Zone 5b winters (to -10 deg F) without protection but maybe even better with snow to protection. Some slowness to bolting but very hot weather will trigger it. Light gray seed.

Seed source:

Terroir Seeds

Year grown: 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009

Location: Augusta, Michigan

History

  • Pennsylvania Dutch tennis ball type.
