B.C KO T

Orange tear-drop shaped hubbard type squash with sweet bright orange flesh. Fruit is about 8" long, and it can weight up to 5 lbs. Excellent sweet flavor, it also makes a great fresh juice.

History

  • An heirloom with ancestry back to the Lakota Sioux Nation, it has been grown by the Native American people along the Missouri Valley prior to the arrival of settlers. It was also used by the troops stationed at Fort Atkinson in the 1820s and Fort Robinson in the 1870s and by the early Kincaid settlers after 1890 in Western Nebraska.
