- This variety was developed by seed researchers and breeders Merlyn and Mary Ann Niedens of Illinois (IL NI M) from an accidental cross of Dad's Sunset and Bisignano 2.
- Introduced commercially by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and Southern Exposure Seed Exchange in 2009.
