History

  • This English heirloom was introduced in 1881 by Sutton's Seeds. It was named for Lord Wantage of Lockinge, founder of the British Red Cross and was developed at the family estate at Lockinge Park.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2003 Yearbook by Amy Goldman of Rhinebeck, New York (NY GO A).
