Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T). Fern's Red - ripe fruit. 2014-08-20.
B.C KO T
- Indet., potato leaf plants. We've got only 2 seeds to germinate, both were potato leaf, but fruits were very different. One plant produced small red round fruits, 3-4 oz, with excellent rich flavor with a hint of sweetness. The second plant produced medium boat-shaped pink beefsteaks. We will regrow both variants.
Seed source:
- Seed Savers Heritage Farm, Decorah, Iowa (IA SSE HF) 09 / Donald Sparks of Pikeville, Kentucky (KY SP D) / a SSE member, KY HU F 89
Year grown: 2014
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)
History
- This is a clear skin tomato, hence it is pink and not red, despite the name.
- First offered in the Seed Savers 1991 Yearbook by Donald Sparks of Pikeville, Kentucky (KY SP D); original seeds from a SSE member, KY HU F in 1989.
- SSE TOMATO 2484.
