70-75 days, vigorous det., deep red 2.5", slightly elongated round fruits with exceptional sweet flavor, juicy and thick walled, good for processing and for fresh use, detaches from plant without calyx and is extremely prolific even in cool conditions. Russian variety first taken to Oregon by Kate Gessert from Moscow, author of 'The beautiful Food Garden', who was a leader of hort. tours of the Soviet Union; it then found its way to the Heritage Seed Library in the UK and now is back in Oregon, offered by Ni1 pre-1998.
