- Robust indet. plants with regular leaf foliage produce large and beautifully ruffled bi-colored beefsteaks, 8-16 oz. Flesh is very meaty, with very small seed chambers and few seeds. Very good sweet flavor. A nice slicer to cover your sandwich! (very limited, 10 seeds / packet)
Seed source:
- College of Rockies, BC, Canada 13 / Dan and Val McMurray of Wynndel, British Columbia, Canada (B.C MC D) / trader
Year grown: 2013
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)
History
- Discovered by David Lemasters of Pennsylvania when he grew a red or pink tomato (name forgotten by now). Named by Gary "Tormato".
- Likely a stray seed in the original seed packet, but could also be an accidental cross. Stability of this variety has not been confirmed yet.
- Seeds were sent to Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) by Patricia Mitchell of College of Rockies in BC, Canada, who inherited the tomato seed collection of the late Dan and Val McMurray of Wynndel, British Columbia, Canada (B.C MC D), after Dan McMurray passed away.
