History

  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1997 Yearbook by Jeff Nekola of Green Bay, Wisconsin (WI NE J), who received Amana Orange seeds from Carolyn Male of Salem, New York in 1996, but the seeds did not grow true to type, giving instead 3-4" pink meaty heart-shaped tomatoes with great sweet rich flavor. Likely a seed mixup, as subsequent growouts did not show any segregation.
  • Offered commercially by Marianna's Heirloom Seeds .
