B.C KO T

Compact bushy det. plants suitable for hanging baskets, regular leaf, pink cherry fruit. Very high yields. Outstanding sweet flavor. Quite meaty for a cherry tomato. I am not sure where the 'Orange' part of the name comes from, as the fruits are pink. The plants survived the late blight in July 2011, and bloomed and set fruit after that.

Seed source:

1. Michael Volk, Texas 07
2. Geza Korbely, Hungary 11 (as Himbeer Rose)

Year grown: 2011 (1), 2021(2)

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • Introduced and named by Geno Centofanti of Columbus, Ohio, who offered it in the SSE Yearbook in the 1980s.
  • SSE TOMATO 1318.
