Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T). Lumpy Faux - ripe fruit. 2014-08-31.

B.C KO T

Indet., regular leaf plants. Fruits are smooth, large pink (clear skin) beefsteaks, 8-16 oz, meaty, with excellent flavor. Same as Lumpy Red, which is also pink.

Seed source:

1. Heritage Harvest Seed 11
2. Blue Ribbon Tomatoes 15

Year grown: 2014, 2015

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

History

  • A pink version of Lumpy Red. Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds grew this variety from seeds received from three different sources, and all produced pink fruits, however, one source produced potato leaf plants (see Lumpy Red Potato Leaf). It really looks like that the person who named this tomato did not differentiate between pink (clear skin) and red (yellow skin) fruits. It is also not lumpy, despite the name.
  • As it did not match the description of Lumpy Red, Tatiana called it 'Lumpy Faux'.
