80-85 days, indet., potato leaf, 10-24 oz pink beefsteak fruit, excellent balanced flavor, moderately juicy, very good smooth texture. Some yellow shoulders and core in early fruits, but this problem goes away as the season progresses. Some growers reported fruits up to 3 lb each, but I have yet to see such a large fruit. Very productive.

Large vines need caging or staking, 76 days, moderate producer of 6-12 oz (for me; some report up to 1.5-lb fruits) rich pink fruits, sometimes with yellow shoulders, with very good flavor. I am not aware of any current commercial sources for this variety.

History

• Family heirloom grown by three generations of the Carl Ashlock family of NC. It was developed by Carl's grandfather, Thomas George Ashlock, in eastern Kentucky, and dates to the 1920s.
• Carl Ashlock gave seeds to Craig LeHouiller (NC LE C), who introduced the variety to the public.
• First introduced to SSE in 2006 by Neil Lockhart, who obtained the seed from Adam Floro of Marion, Illinois in 2005. (?)
