History

  • This tomato came from the German Red Strawberry seed sent to Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) by Geza Korbely, Hungary in 2005. Obviously this was not the true German Red Strawberry, as all the plants (12 grown) were potato leaf and produced large pink fruit with very few seeds. It is possible that German Red Strawberry was a parent, but it is also possible that a seed mix-up happened somewhere in the numerous seed exchange transactions that Geza Korbely had with many North American gardeners in the early 2000s.
  • In any case, it is a great tomato worth growing and saving seeds, and I am hoping it will come out stable in the future growouts.
