B.C KO T

indet., regular leaf, vigorous plant with high yield of flattened beefsteak fruit, some fruits were small, and some were normal large size, pale peach color, mild flavor, good solid texture. I need to grow it side-by-side with Orange Cream to see how different they are.

Seed source:

Linda Black of Fountain Valley, California (CA BL L) 08 / Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois (IL LO N) 02 / Glenn Drowns of Calamus, Iowa (IA DR G) 95 / Donald Branscomb, California (CA BR D) 85

Year grown: 2008

Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

IL LO N

85 days, indet., regular foliage, 6-12 oz, pale peach colored fruit with good taste, fair yield.

Seed source:

Glenn Drowns of Calamus, Iowa (IA DR G) 95 / Donald Branscomb, California (CA BR D) 85

Year grown:

Location: Oblong, Illinois

History

  • It was first offered in 1991 SSE Yearbook by Glenn Drowns of Iowa (IA DR G), who obtained the original seeds from Donald Branscomb of Clearlake, California. Donald Branscomb was working on the Tomato Seed Bank project in the 1980s, and maintained an extensive collection of tomato varieties (2000+), actively exchanging seeds with other SSE members and tomato growers. Donald never offered this variety in the SSE Yearbook, so we can conclude that Glenn received the seeds in a private trade with Don.
