History
- Developed in the 2006-2011 by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between Budai Torpe and Black from Tula, made in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia and named Grumpy.
- A selection grown by Richard Allen of Australia was sent to Susan Bailey of Alaska, who found and named Yukon Quest, after an Alaskan dogsled race. Variety development was handled primarily by Sue Bailey, with help from Michael Volk of Texas, Ted Corbett of Germany, Ted Maiden, Tennessee and Paul Fish. Seed was grown out for the initial release by Ted Maiden, Tennessee.
- Tatiana's TOMATObase Seeds introduced the variety in 2012.
- More information about the development of this cultivar can be found on the Dwarf Tomato Project website.
