Midseason seed production, striped pods of varied sizes and qualities including pink and purple stripes. With large leaves and medium length vines it is a good cornfield bean. Variations in seed coat and seed size are typical, ranging from tan to brown, pink to ivory, and lavender.

Location: Zone 5b, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA (1000 feet above sea level)



History

  • Collected from Tonawanda reservation, where Onodowaga Haudenosaunee Chiefs are named according to traditional culture.
  • If the colors are separated then the bean will lose its strength according to Onodowaga (Seneca) tradition.
