Indet., regular leaf, relatively compact plants about 4' tall. Very high yield of flattened medium red beefsteaks, some slightly ribbed and boat-shaped, very beautiful. 4-10 oz. Very good balanced flavor.

History

  • Dates at least to the 1970s. Introduced commercially by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in the early 2000s; original seed from Aziz Nael, an Iraqi seed collector living in Tours, France.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1996 Yearbook by James A Wolfe of Rogersville, Tennessee (TN WO J) as Tatar, he said the seeds came from a Peace Corps volunteer from Yalta, Ukraine in 1994.
