Talk:Odessa
From Tatiana's TOMATOBase
2006 notes:
- The original seeds were obviously crossed, as I got some Odessa plants which were consistent with the description of the variety, as well as one indet. plant with large plum-shaped cherry fruits with very good sweet flavor. I saved seeds from both types of fruits, and named the latter variation Arkadia. It is easy to tell apart these two different types early, as the seedlings of the true Odessa will be much more compact as compared to the cross.
- Another grower from Washington state reported seeing a very similar variation in the plants grown from the original Odessa seeds he purchased from Seeds Trust. I am speculating that Seeds Trust may have distributed crossed seeds. I have to check with B.C MC D if they have observed any variations in fruit size to confirm.
