History
- Introduced by Ben Quisenberry, Ohio.
- Ben Quisenberry's grandson said that the original Stump of the World was regular leaf and it was renamed by Ben as 'did not like the name' (see [1] for more details)
- It is possible that what we know today as a potato leafed Stump of the World is not the same as the original Stump of the World that Ben Quisenberry had in his seed collection.
- Another theory is that this variety was named by Ben Quisenberry after a bible reference, as Ben was a very religious man. The speculation is that the 'Stump' being referred to is the stump or root of Jesse in the bible.
