History

  • Said to have originated in Estonia. However, as all the former Soviet Republics economy was very integrated, it actually could be from anywhere in the former USSR.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 1996 Yearbook by Åke Truedsson of Klagshamn, Sweden (SWED TR A), who noted that this variety came from Estonia.
  • There is also another variety known in North America, Blue Fruit, that could be the same.
