History

  • This tomato was developed from an F2 line from a Beauty King x OSU Blue cross made by Mark McCaslin of Frogsleap Farm, Minnesota. It was further selected and named by Dean Slater or Copemish, Michigan, who produced the seed for Marianna's Heirloom Seeds .
  • Offered for sale by Marianna's Heirloom Seeds in 2013.
  • It is unclear how stable is the line released by Marianna's Heirloom Seeds . However, Blane Horton of Jackson, Missisipi grew it to F7 generation in summer 2013, and it looks like it should be stable or very close to stable by now.
  • Mark McCaslin considers the Beauty King x OSU Blue lines a work in progress and expects that if something interesting arises from his breeding work, it will be released by Frogleaps Farm as a new stable named variety.
