History

A spontaneous mutation of a Dutch sweet pepper 'Propa'. It was marketed in 1987-1990 by the seed company Rijk Zwaan in De Lier (Netherlands), initially under the number '35-01 RZ ' and later under the name 'Salsa'.
This was a quite unusual mutation, as the fruits have darker orange color compared to all other commercially marketed orange peppers.
