B.C KO T
- Mid to late season, large indet., regular leaf plant with high yield of large pale yellow beefsteaks with pink blush at blossom end, juicy, wonderful taste, 8-14 oz. Reminded me of Lemon Boy F1, only larger and tastier.
Seed source:
- Denise Salmon, BC 07 / John Smarsz, Australia
Year grown: 2007
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)
History
- A possible accidental cross of Cascara Rendidora with unknown yellow or bi-color tomato, or a seed mix-up. Discovered by Tatiana Kouchnareva (B.C KO T) in 2007 when she grew Cascara Rendidora seeds from Denise Salmon, BC, who in turn, received the seeds from John Smarsz.
- Tatiana named this variety 'Sakhara', as it sounds close enough but still different from 'Cascara', and reflects the fruit coloring.
- This variety may not be stable yet.
Related
- Cascara Rendidora (possibly one of the parents)
