History

  • Said to be originated from France.
  • According to Semences-Partage, this is a cross of Ananas and Rose de Berne, developed by Mr. Michel Berthier Décines in the Rhone and stabilized in 1982. This variety is now maintained by Mr. Berthier's son, Sébastien Berthier Maraîcher Douévas at St. Bartholomew Vals in the Drôme in France.
  • A.k.a. Pamplemousse du Grand Père.
  • The name means 'Grapefruit' in German, and it is a translation of the original French name Pamplemousse.
