B.C KO T

Quite early in our garden. Pods start from light green, turning light yellow and finally bright dark red. Delicious sweet flavor, with a hint of smokiness. Firm walls are about 0.5 mm thick. We loved it dehydrated and ground into sweet paprika. Plant are quite compact and can be successfully grown in pots.

History

  • An heirloom from Ukraine. Original name unknown / lost.
  • Seed was collected by R. Browne from peppers purchased at a farmers market in Odessa, Ukraine in 1965 and then grown in Nebraska.
  • First offered in the Seed Savers 2001 Yearbook by John N. Trumpeter of Clinton, Iowa (IA TR J), seeds from R. Browne. This was the only variety that Mr. Trumpeter listed in the SSE Yearbook.
