- Indet. plants with long and lanky vines, with regular foliage typical for wild tomatoes, round red fruits ~1-1.5 cm in diameter. Good yield, reasonably early, and continues to produce until it is killed by frost. Very good intense tomato flavor. Good disease resistance.

- Large vines need caging or staking, sprawling highly branched plant with very small leaves, produces very large crop of seedy 0.5 inch round red fruit that give a burst of sweet flavor. Steadily productive right until first frost. Great to sprinkle them whole in salads or cooked dishes.

History
- Craig LeHoullier of Raleigh, North Carolina, was sent this variety from Barney Laman, California, via a National Gardening Association seed swap in 1990. Barney claimed that he was given Mexico Midget by his brother, who was a truck driver, who obtained it while driving in Mexico, claiming it grew wild there.
- One commercial source noted for 2004 in the Garden Seed Inventory 6th edition: Seed Savers Exchange , but now it is more available.
