- Relatively compact indet., regular leaf, large flowers, beefsteak type fruits, dark pink-purple color. I think this is not a true Marlowe Charleston, as the leaf type and fruit color are different.
Seed source:
- 1. Mireille Blais, QC 07 (received as Marlowe Charleston seed)
- 2. Blue Ribbon Tomatoes 09 / KY ST M (Maria Stenger, Kentucky) / MD WY C 99 (Chuck Wyatt, Maryland)
Year grown: 2008 (#1 - crop failure, no more seeds), 2011 (#2)
Location: Zone 7b, PNW, Anmore, BC, Canada (760 ft above sea level)

- This old tomato is near and dear to my heart. I won a blue ribbon in the Adair county fair for the largest tomato with it in 2001. It was over two pounds and not at all attractive. I have grown it since and have not gotten another two pounder, but even the small ones are one pound. The color is dark and in old times may have been refered to as purple. The taste is excellent, and the flesh is nice and meaty. The production is fantastic, many pounds per plant. The plants are a bit skimpy.
- I assumed these were regular leaf, but now I think they're somewhere in between the regular and potato leaf. I took a photo of the leaf, and I see how they could be called either one.

Year: 2008
Location: Sonora, Kentucky
History
- A regular leaf and black-fruited variant of Marlowe Charleston, which is a potato leaf pink variety. It is unclear how this regular leaf version appeared, but it seems to have also come from Chuck Wyatt of Baltimore, Maryland (MD WY C).
